Khameer Rotlas Recipe  

 

4 cups flour

½ cube yeast

1 tbsp ghee

½ egg

1 tbsp sugar

¼ cup milk

½ tsp salt

1 tblsp oil

  

Mix sugar into yeast.  Sift dry ingredients together.  Add beaten eggs, oil, ghee and milk to yeast mixture and form into dough, using as much of lukewarm water as is necessary.  Allow to rise double in size. 

 

Roll out into small discs (like fat rotis) allow to rise again.  Grill over hot griddle (tava) like roti.  When nicely browned, brush over with oil and serve hot with curries, soups etc.
