Safforn Chicken

How to Make Safforn Chicken

1 Lb chicken

Safforn Chicken1/2 cup coconut oil

3 small cinnamon stick

5 cloves

4 green cardamoms

2 tbsp minced garlic

1 1/2 onions sliced

4/1 tsp nutmeg

1 tbsp minced ginger

1 tbsp garlic paste

Salt to taste

1/2 tsp red chili powder

1 1/2 Safforn,crushed and soaked in 4 tbsp of hot water



1. Heat the oil in a pot and add the cinnamon,cloves and cardamoms. Fry until they crackle.

Add the chopped garlic and fry until brown


2. Add the gingerĀ  and garlic paste, the chicken pieces,salt and red chili powder. Stir and cook

until water evaporates and bring to a boil. Reduce heat,cover the pan and cook until chicken

become tender.


3. Remove the pot from the heat and cool. Take out chicken pieces and strain the gravy

through a fine strainer.


4. Add the chicken pieces to the gravy. Simmer until the gravy is reduced to half and has a

sauce-like consistency. Add the safforn. Stir and serve
