Peppery Chickpeas

How to Make Peppery Chickpeas

5 tbsp vegetable oil

2 cups chopped onions

1/2 tbsp ground masala

3 cups chickpeas (cans or boiled at home)

1 tsp ground black pepper 

1/2 tsp salt

2 tsp lemon juice

1/4 cup chopped cilantro for garnish




 1 . Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium  high heat and fry the onions until the light brown .

      Add the ground masala and stir for 2 minutes or until spices give off their aroma.


 2 . Add the drained chickpeas, pepper salt and 1 tbsp of water, fry over a medium heat , stirring

     constantly until a few of  the chick peas begin to break down


 3 . Add some of water if it becomes dry and the curry will have no sauce but it should be moist.

 4 . Stir in the lemon juice ,remove from the heat and taste for the salt.


 5 . Garnish with the chopped cilantro
