Prawns in Egg White Batter PDF Print E-mail

500g prawns (de-vein, shell and wash)

Marinate them for a few hours in:

1 tsp salt

1/3 tsp crushed black pepper

¼ tsp crushed jeera (cumin)

1 tsp crushed garlic

1 tsp red chilli

1 tblsp lemon juice

 

BATTER:

 

2 egg whites

¼ tsp salt

2 tblsp maizena

 

Beat egg whites with salt till they are stiff.  Blend in the maizena.  Dip each prawn into batter and fry in deep oil till they are crisp.   Do not crowd pan but fry few prawns at a time.  Serve hot.
