Beat Aging with the Food You Eat

All people want to stop aging – do away with the wrinkles, the sagging skin and, of course, the diseases that come with aging.  You would always want to stay as healthy and vital as you were when you were 17.  If you could, wouldn’t that be just great?!

Because of this nagging desire to stay young and healthy, people have come up with anti-aging methods – from food, to exercise, to supplements, to creams, to operations – all for the sake of staying young.

Anti-Aging Explained

So what is anti-aging?

Anti-aging is actually the process of holding up or slowing down aging and all its effects.  This can be done through various means which include exercise, proper diet and avoidance of hazardous conditions.

One of the means of delaying the aging process is by changing your diet and adapting that which promotes cell regeneration and health.  You see, as you age, your body cells grow old and weak as well.  The ability of the cells to regenerate and produce new ones is connected to your diet, such that if you have proper and good nutrition, your cells will be able to regenerate well.  You would feel and look as good as you felt when you were 17.

What are Anti-aging Foods? So, what are these anti-aging foods then?

The good news is that there are a lot of anti-aging foods.  These are foods that promote cell regeneration.  They are high in antioxidants, folic acid, vitamins A, B6, B12, C, E, beta carotene, and selenium.

These foods encourage longevity, vitality, endurance, and energy.  They help in formation and purification of the blood, repair of tissues, prevention of risks of life-threatening diseases like cancer, and reduction of diseases like arthritis, cataracts, blindness, high blood pressure, and muscular dysfunction.

Anti-aging foods reduces or eliminates the free-radicals in the body.  Longevity is encouraged by reducing the cholesterol and triglycerides in the body while endurance is encouraged by speeding up the body’s metabolism.

Anti-Aging Food Diet An anti-aging diet discourages calorie and saturated fat consumption and encourages intake of oily fish, green leafy vegetables, fruits and wheat grains.  To be specific, anti-aging foods include:

1.         Avocado.

2.         Nuts, seeds and berries.

3.         Green leafy vegetables like broccoli and lettuce.

4.         Garlic and ginger.

5.         Soya.

6.         Pastas and rice.

7.         Watermelon

People in anti-aging diets are also encouraged to drink not less than eight glasses of water daily.  This removes toxins from your body.  You could also supplement water with the liquids you’d get from what you eat like watermelon, oranges, tomatoes, and soups.
