How to Make Ginger Scented Yogurt Rice

Ginger Scented  Rice

1 cup any fine long grai white rice

1 1/2 cup water

salt to taste

2 tbsp coconut oil or olive oil

1/4 tsp asafetida powder

1 tsp black mustard seeds

3 tbsp thinly slivered fresh ginger

2 tsp chipped green chili

2 tbsp finely chopped cilantro

2 cup plain yogurt, lightly beaten until smooth

 

Method:

1. Bring rice,water,salt to a boil. Lower heat slightly and simmer, covered 15-20 minutes

until all the water absorbed and rice is tender. Remove from the heat and set aside

 

2. Heat oil in a saucepan over medium low heat.  Sprinkle asafetida on top of oil. Add mustard

seeds. As soon as the seeds  start popping ,add ginger and green chili. Stir in cilantro and

remove from the heat.pour  spice mixture over rice and mix well Blend in yogurt. Serve

immediately or at room temperature.
