Onion Raita

(Makes 3 cups)

 

½ cup finely chopped onion

2 cups yogurt

1 tsp finely chopped green chilli

1 tsp finely chopped fresh ginger

½ tsp ground roasted cumin seeds

½ tsp ground mustard seeds

½ tsp salt

¼ tsp cayenne

1 tsp chopped fresh mint leaves

1 tbsp chopped fresh coriander leaves

 

Place the chopped onion in a bowl and cover with water.  Soak for 15 minutes.  Drrain will.  In a bowl, place the onion, yogurt, green chilli, ginger, cumin seeds, mustard seeds, salt, cayenne and mint leaves.  Stir well.

 

Place in a serving bowl.  Garnish with coriander leaves.  serve
