Roast Lamb Recipes

(serves 8 )

1kg Lamb

4 tbsp oil

½ cup yoghurt

2 tsp red chilli

1 tbsp coriander seeds (crushed)

1 tbsp ginger/garlic

½ tsp turmeric

½ tsp elachi powder

½ bunch dhunia (coriander)

4 large tomatoes (cut small)

2 onions (sliced)

1 ½ tsp salt

1 tsp crushed jeera (cumin)

¼ tsp powdered cloves

¼ tsp powdered cinnamon

Cut mutton in small pieces. Heat oil and fry onions pale brown. Add tomatoes, all spices and fry slowly for minute. Add meat and yoghurt and cook very slowly with lid of pot covered.

¼ cup of water may be added if meat is not tended. Raw onion rings and slices of lemon as garnish.
