Cardamom flavor Lmab Paties

Cardamom- Flavor lamb patties

 

 

2 tbsp Bengal garam or channa dal or yellow split peas

1 lb Ground lamb ,minced several times to make it smooth

2 tsp Grated ginger

4 Garlic cloves crushed

1/2 tsp Mango powder

2tbsp butter

2 tbsp Hot chili powder

1/4 tsp Cardamom seeds

1/2 tsp Salt

4 tsp Vegetable oil

2 medium red or white onion finely sliced to serve

 

Method

 

 

1.  Place a small pan over a low heat and roast the channa dal for 3 minutes

 

2 . Grind in to a fine powder using a pestle and mortar or coffee grinder

 

3 . Mix all ingredients together except the vegetable oil and onions

 

4 . Cover and refrigerate for 3 hours or overnight

 

5 . Wet your hands and divide the ground meat into four equal parts. Shape into flat.Round patties just

Over 1/2 – inch thick

 

6 . Heat the oil in the frying pan ans shallow fry the patties over a medium heat ,cooking either side for

about 10 minutes or until

 

7 . Cook through .make sure both sides brown evenly.

 

8 . Alternatively preheat a broiler to medium and broil for 12 minutes each side or until cooked through.
