Cabbage Stir Fry


Cabbage                               500 grm  finely sliced
Mustard seeds                      1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds                         1 tsp
Split gram dal                        1 tsp
Dry red chilies                       2
Curry leaves                         6 sprig
Asafoetida                           1/4 tsp
 Minced Ginger                      1 tsp
Turmeric powder                  1 tsp
Green chilies                         2  cut small piece
Coriander powder                 1 ½  tsp
Fresh grated coconut            3  tbsps
 Olive  oil                             1 tbsp
Salt to taste



  1. Wash   cabbage and cut  in to medium sliced
  2. Heat oil in a pot. Add mustard seeds and allow to splutter. Add cumin seeds and urad dal and allow to turn light brown
  3. Add green chilies, ginger, curry leaves, red dry chilies, asafoetida and turmeric powder and  fry for a few seconds on medium flame.
  4. Add the cabbage and mix  well with ingredients.  Cook without lid about 10 minutes on Lower flame, place lid and cook for more 10 minutes stirring once in a while
  5. Add coriander powder and salt and mix. Cook for another 5 minutes and turn off heat
  6. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves or grated coconut.
